The Verse of the Tamed Wind

Philosophical Summary

'The storm raged outside, but the lamp inside the house did not flicker. Divined for the one who learned to build a wall of truth against the winds of lies.' This verse teaches that internal stability is the only defense against a volatile environment.

Interpretation

Ogbè Ọwọ́nrin represents the 'Wind of Change.' In its negative aspect, it is the gossip, the unstable market, and the sudden shift in fortune. The verse teaches that the 'Lamp' of one's character must be protected by the 'Wall' of their spiritual practice. If a person's identity is defined by external approval or material gain, they will flicker and die when the wind of Ọwọ́nrin blows. If their identity is rooted in Ogbè (Truth), they become the center of the storm—the only place of absolute stillness.
