proverb
A Candle Does Not Lose Its Light by Lighting Another
generositylightsharingteachingleadership
Philosophical Summary
This is perhaps the most widely cited proverb across all Eji Ogbe traditions — a perfect expression of why the light of this Odu is different from material wealth. Material wealth is diminished by sharing; light is not. For the Eji Ogbe initiate whose very nature is light, the refusal to illuminate others would be a misalignment of their essential function. Teaching, guiding, and illuminating are not acts of generosity from scarcity — they are the natural expression of a nature that cannot diminish.
