A Lucumí cosmological story in which the primordial chaos before ordered creation is resolved through divine governance.

Philosophical Summary

This Lucumí narrative situates Eji Ogbe as the Odu of the divine establishment of order. The world in chaos is the state before Eji Ogbe's signature intervenes — a world where even family is fractured, where religion exists but has no center. Olodumare's intervention through Olofin is the first act of Eji Ogbe governance: the appointment of a leader who brings alignment. This story is the Lucumí cosmological parallel to the Isese story of Eji Ogbe descending to stabilize the earth in the Pataki of the Birth of Dawn. Both traditions agree on the fundamental function: Eji Ogbe is the Odu that establishes the possibility of order itself.
